Woodstock, Vermont has a lively outdoor music scene and there is no shortage of opportunities to enjoy great tunes amidst iconic Vermont backdrops. VSO Summer Festival Tour, Symphony of Stars

On July 5, Vermont Symphony Orchestra returns to Saskadena Six for their 90th birthday with the Symphony of Stars! Enjoy a spectacular evening of music with Sufjan Stevens, Margaret Bonds, Vermont’s own Erik Nielsen, John Philip Sousa marches, John Williams’ E.T. score and more – plus spectacular solos from VSO’s musicians.

Bring your picnic and relax under balmy summer skies with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. The concert is 5:30-8:30pm.

On July 11, 5pm-6:30pm, bring a picnic, blanket/chairs, and your beverages of choice (alcohol permitted) and enjoy a beautiful summer evening in the mansion gardens.

Vulture Sister Song is an interdisciplinary performance organized by 2024 Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park Artist-in-Residence and Upper Valley dance artist Ellen Smith Ahern, in collaboration with musicians, writers and dancers from around the country: Pete Dybdahl, Kate Elias, Jacob Elias & Josina Guess. The project includes live performance and an accompanying guidebook of illustrations, stories, and environmental education.

barnarts Feast and Field music series (every thursday through september 26, 2024)

Feast and Field in Barnard, Vermont is a celebration of music, food and community on Fable Farm. Imagine twinkling lights strung through apple orchards and freshly prepared food that is grown, raised and harvested in the same hills. BarnArts curates a world-class lineup of regional and international bands that perform against the backdrop of the Upper Valley’s rolling green mountains, and family and friends gather on the dance floor week after week.

Bring your blankets and chairs every Thursday through September 26th for a magical and unique experience in a beautiful setting. Doors open at 5:30pm and music begins at 6pm. You can pre-order tickets and food here

Market on the Green (every wednesday 3-6pm, through october)

Woodstock’s Village Green, located in the center of town, is a beautiful place for the weekly Market on the Green. Pick up fresh produce, flowers, handcrafted art, Thai food and empanadas, while you enjoy live music. This family-friendly event is a favorite for locals and visitors alike. The Market on the Green is every Wednesday 3-6pm, through October 16th. 

Music on the Hill (every wednesday at 6:30pm through september 11, 2024)

Music on the Hill is a free summer concert series located on the hill behind Artistree in Pomfret, Vermont. The stunning view overlooking Saskadena Six cannot be beat. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and enjoy live music amongst the rolling green mountains of Vermont. See the full lineup here. No need to reserve a spot. All dates are weather dependent (no pets allowed except service dogs). 

Music by the River (friday evenings july 12-august 16, 2024)

Music by the River is Pentangle Arts free concert series located at the gorgeous East End amphitheater. Friday evenings from July 12th - August 16th enjoy river and mountain views from picturesque East End Park. Featuring both regionally and nationally renowned artists, this is a concert series you won’t want to miss.

imagine zero music festival (September 7, 2024)

The second annual Imagine Zero Music Festival will take place Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11am-9pm at Fable Farm in Barnard, VT with a unique vision for a future free of carbon emissions and single use waste. The dynamic performers will play a range of global music, indie-rock, American folk, bluegrass, and rock & roll that will make you want to dance!

The festival organizers have placed a focus on bringing top tier musicians who are aligned with the mission to help celebrate a new wave of festival stewardship. World-touring Haitian band, Lakou Mizik will headline the event, joined by New England favorites, Billy Wylder, The Wolff Sisters, Saints & Liars, Chad Hollister Trio, Ben Kogan Band, Beecharmer, Seth Glier and more.

Ransom Tavern Inn (every wednesday in july)

Enjoy delicious food and drinks with some fun live music at the Ransom Tavern in South Woodstock. Every Wednesday from 6-8pm, see their music lineup here

Mon Vert

Mon Vert Cafe is one of Woodstock’s favorite restaurants, serving up delicious goodies for breakfast and lunch. During the summer, see Jim Yaeger perform every Sunday from 12-2pm on their patio (weather dependent). 

Ottaquechee Yacht Club

Woodstock’s local watering hole serving up drinks and food has live music every week in June. With everything from reggae to rock it’s a great spot to kick back and enjoy some tunes with friends.
